A giant asteroid is going to hit Earth in about six months -- and this time, Bruce Willis and Ben Affleck aren't here to save us.

Check out the trailer for "Salvation," a new CBS series that's debuting this summer, which will be exploring how people would react if they knew a potential doomsday asteroid is headed to Earth.

The drama series, starring Ian Anthony Dale, Santiago Cabrera, Charlie Rowe, and Jennifer Finnigan, begins when a tech billionaire and an MIT grad student discover an aberration in space. But when they share their unexpected findings to the U.S. Pentagon, they learn that the government has already known about Earth's possible collision with a giant asteroid.

Created by Liz Kruger and Craig Shapiro (the creators of the short-lived USA series "Necessary Roughness" and writers on "Extant"), "Salvation" also stars Jacqueline Byers, Shazi Raja, and Rachel Drance.

Scheduled to premiere on Wednesday, July 12th, the pilot episode is being directed by Spanish helmer Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, of "28 Weeks Later" fame.
