The last time we saw Ryan Gosling in Los Angeles, he was playing jazz piano in the hit musical "La La Land." Well, it seems Gosling has returned to the city, but for an entirely different kind of L.A. story.

Check out the new official full-length trailer for "Blade Runner 2049," the much-anticipated and long-awaited sequel to director Ridley Scott's 1982 masterpiece based on the Philip K. Dick science-fiction novel.

Playing a futuristic Los Angeles detective who uncovers a disturbing conspiracy involving genetically engineered replicants, Gosling leads the cast of the upcoming movie, which has Scott serving as an executive producer while directing duties are being handled by acclaimed French-Canadian director Denis Villeneuve, of "Arrival" and "Sicario" fame.

Among the co-stars in the film include Robin Wright, Ana de Armas, Mackenzie Davis, with Dave Bautista, Jared Leto and -- of course -- Harrison Ford, who is back reprising his role as ex-blade runner Rick Deckard.

"Blade Runner 2049," which takes place 30 years after the events of the original film, will open everywhere on October 6th.
