It's another adaptation of a horror tale from author Stephen King and it's about to hit the small screen this summer. Check out the new trailer for "The Mist," featuring new footage from the upcoming TV series that appears to be pushing the envelope when it comes to blood and gore.

Scheduled to air on the Spike cable network, the ten-episode thriller is based on King's best-selling 1980s novella where a mysterious mist spreads across a small town and is concealing some demons that will attack anyone who comes near it

Created by Danish TV writer-producer Christian Torpe (Rita) and starring Morgan Spector (Boardwalk Empire), Frances Conroy (American Horror Story), Darren Pettie (Madam Secretary), Isiah Whitlock Jr. (Pete's Dragon), Dan Butler (Frasier), Alyssa Sutherland (Vikings), Okezie Morro (Red Tails), Danica Curcic (Nobel), Russell Posner (Louder Than Bombs), and newcomer Gus Birney.

"The Mist" is set to premiere on Thursday, June 22nd on Spike TV.

synopsis:
Based on a story by Stephen King, Spike’s THE MIST centers around a small town family that is torn apart by a brutal crime. As they deal with the fallout an eerie mist rolls in, suddenly cutting them off from the rest of the world and, in some cases, each other. Family, friends and adversaries become strange bedfellows, battling the mysterious mist and its threats, fighting to maintain morality and sanity as the rules of society break down.
