She has extraordinary fighting skills. But that doesn't make her a hero. She's a hero because of her unwavering commitment to protecting mankind through the most dangerous of times -- even though mankind does not deserve her.

Witness the "rise of the warrior" -- that is, the rise of the Amazonian warrior princess of Themyscira in the newly released final trailer for "Wonder Woman," the latest film tied into the DC cinematic universe, which is exploring the origins of one of the most beloved and iconic superheroes in comic book history.

Gal Gadot is again sporting those indestructible bracelets and brandishes a golden lasso as she wields a mighty mythical sword and shield into battle. Chris Pine is WWI fighter pilot Steve Trevor, who crash lands on Wonder Woman's home island and tells her about the Great War and a new diabolical villain called "Doctor Poison" (played by Spanish actress Elena Anaya; "The Skin I Live In"). Together, they try to prevent a never-ending war from happening. Which means Wonder Woman must leave her home and possibly never see her loved ones again.

Directed by Patty Jenkins and co-starring Danny Huston, Robin Wright, Connie Nielsen, David Thewlis, and Samantha Jo, "Wonder Woman" arrives in theaters June 2nd.

synopsis:
Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers ... and her true destiny.
