Dan Stevens is on a roll these days. After starring in this year's fairytale-musical blockbuster "Beauty and the Beast" and the critical hit comic-book series "Legion," Stevens will next tackle the sci-fi genre with the futuristic thriller "Kill Switch," due out in June.

Here, the former "Downton Abbey" star plays a pilot and family man who finds himself becoming humanity's last hope when a wide-scale experiment for unlimited energy goes horribly wrong.

The film, also starring Charity Wakefield (Wolf Hall) and Berenice Marlohe (Skyfall), hails from visual effects artist-turned-first-time feature director Tim Smit, based on his 2009 P.O.V. concept short, "What's in the Box?"

"Kill Switch" is slated for a June 16th release. Watch the newly released teaser trailer, above.

synopsis:
Kill Switch charts the story of a pilot battling to save his family and the planet, based on Smit’s short What’s In The Box? Set in a future version of the world, the video game style plot follows an experiment for unlimited energy, harnessing parallel universes, which goes wrong. Chased by drones and soldiers, pilot and physicist Will Porter must race through an imploding world to get the Redivider box to a tower, which will save humanity, including his family, in the real world.
