Human civilization has fallen apart. The world is no longer recognizable. Yet, Joel Edgerton (Loving, Midnight Special) has a small shack in the woods, safe from the mysterious disease that has nearly wiped out humanity. There's only one door to his shelter and Edgerton holds the only key around his neck. And if he allows you to stay at his place, then you must follow this one rule: "Never go out at night." And whatever you do, never leave the door open -- especially at night!

Check out the newly released full-length trailer for "It Comes At Night," a new mystery horror thriller in which Edgerton plays a post-apocalyptic survivor trying to keep his wife (Carmen Ejogo; from "Selma" and "Fantastic Beasts") and his son (Kelvin Harrison Jr; from "The Birth of a Nation") safe from outside threats.

It's a job that has proven to be a difficult task, particularly challenging when two strangers (played by Girls' Christopher Abbott and Mad Max: Fury Road's Riley Keough) suddenly appear on their property, asking for help and protection. Unfortunately, their presence soon brings up all sorts of fear and overwhelming paranoia.

Trey Edward Shults, the filmmaker behind the 2016 Thanksgiving-set psychological drama "Krisha," writes and directs "It Comes At Night," which is being distributed by A24, the same studio behind last year's horror hit "The Witch."

The film is due to open in theaters on June 9th.

synopsis:
Imagine the end of the world -- Now imagine something worse!

Award-winning filmmaker Trey Edward Shults follows his incredible debut feature "Krisha" with "It Comes At Night," a horror film following a man (Joel Edgerton) as he learns that the evil stalking his family home may be only a prelude to horrors that come from within.

Secure within a desolate home as an unnatural threat terrorizes the world, the tenuous domestic order he has established with his wife and son is put to the ultimate test with the arrival of a desperate young family seeking refuge.

Despite the best intentions of both families, paranoia and mistrust boil over as the horrors outside creep ever-closer, awakening something hidden and monstrous within him as he learns that the protection of his family comes at the cost of his soul.
