Christoph Waltz and Dane DeHaan are fighting over Alicia Vikander in the new trailer for "Tulip Fever," a lavish costume drama set during the flower trading phenomenon that became known as "Tulipomania" in 1630s Amsterdam.

In this adaption of Deborah Moggach's international bestseller of the same name, Vikander plays a young 17th century orphaned woman forced into a loveless marriage to a wealthy merchant (played by Waltz). Things take a dramatic turn, however, when Vikander's Sophia strikes up a passionate love affair with Jan Van Loos, a young portrait artist (DeHaan) who has been commissioned by her husband to paint her likeness.

English director Justin Chadwick (The Other Boleyn Girl) helms from an adapted screenplay by Oscar-winning screenwriter Tom Stoppard (Shakespeare in Love).

In addition to Vikander, Waltz, and DeHaan, the cast is jam-packed with recognizable faces that include Judi Dench, Cara Delevingne, Jack O'Connell, Holliday Grainger, Matthew Morrison, and Zach Galifianakis.

Though shot almost three years ago and was initially slated to be released last summer (a victim of Weinstein Co's continuous scheduling issues), "Tulip Fever" is now coming to theaters on September 1st.
