Out of all the tricky aspects of making a feature film, the process of composing an original film score may be the least known or understood by a movie-loving public.

Documentary filmmaker Matt Schrader aims to rectify that with "Score," an insightful analysis of the art of film scoring, featuring in-depth interviews with some of the biggest composers in the business (Hans Zimmer, Danny Elfman, Quincy Jones, Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross, Rachel Portman, and much more).

Since hitting the festival circuit last year, "Score: A Film Music Documentary" has earned good notices, including a few Audience Awards. The documentary will officially open in theaters on June 16th. Until then, you can watch the official theatrical trailer, above.

synopsis:
BEHIND EVERY GREAT FILM IS A GREAT COMPOSER.
