What's got Tom Cruise so spooked?

Check out a new international trailer for Universal's Monster movie reboot "The Mummy," in which Tom's next to impossible mission is to go up against an ancient Egyptian princess who has awakened from her tomb and is now looking to take over the world.

New footage shows Cruise as hero Nick Morton, a mysterious adventurer who mistakenly awakens a 5,000-year-old Egyptian princess named Ahmanet (played by "Star Trek Beyond" star Sofia Boutella). She possesses unimaginable powers that can destroy human kind. Meanwhile, Academy-award winner Russell Crowe plays Dr. Henry Jekyll, a character who oversees the modern-day world where monsters do indeed exist. He's also might be a re-occurring character for which the studio is planning to tie into their new Universal Monster series of films.

Directed by TV's "Fringe" and "Sleepy Hollow" co-creator and producer-screenwriter Alex Kurtzman, the upcoming film also co-stars Annabelle Wallis, Courtney B. Vance, and Jake Johnson.

"The Mummy" shall arise in theaters worldwide on June 9th.

synopsis:
Tom Cruise headlines a spectacular, all-new cinematic version of the legend that has fascinated cultures all over the world since the dawn of civilization: The Mummy.

Thought safely entombed in a tomb deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient princess (Sofia Boutella, of "Kingsman: The Secret Service" and "Star Trek Beyond") whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.

From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, The Mummy brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters.
