Star Wars: The Last Jedi — Teaser Trailer

added: Fri, Apr 14th '17

Rejoice "Star Wars" fans! This is the moment you've been waiting for. Behold! The very first trailer for "Star Wars: The Last Jedi," the much-awaited eighth episode of the beloved film series.

Filmmaker Rian Johnson (Looper, Brick) takes over the directing chores from J.J. Abrams. The forthcoming movie takes place immediately after the events of "The Force Awakens." Daisy Ridley reprises her role of feisty scavenger Rey as she continues her journey towards learning the ways of the force. She first tries to be placed under the tutelage of Jedi Master Luke Skywalker (played by franchise icon Mark Hamill), who not only talks but apparently thinks it's "time for the Jedi to end."

Also, written by Rian Johnson, "The Last Jedi" will feature returning cast members John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, and the late, great Carrie Fisher in her final screen performance as General Leia Organa (though, the rumor has it that Fisher may also appear in Episode 9 by using additional footage from "The Last Jedi" -- UPDATE: Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy has confirmed that Fisher will NOT appear in 2019's Episode IX).

"Star Wars: The Last Jedi" will open in theaters on December 15th.

Having taken her first steps into a larger world in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Rey continues her epic journey with Finn, Poe and Luke Skywalker in the next chapter of the saga.
