The Spike cable network has released the first trailer for the new small-screen adaptation of Stephen King's horror novella "The Mist," about a mysterious white fog filled with unimaginable evil that causes utter chaos when it engulfs a small town.

The ten-episode thriller, created by Danish TV writer-producer Christian Torpe (Rita), stars Morgan Spector (Boardwalk Empire), Frances Conroy (American Horror Story), Darren Pettie (Madam Secretary), Isiah Whitlock Jr. (Pete's Dragon), Dan Butler (Frasier), Alyssa Sutherland (Vikings), Okezie Morro (Red Tails), Danica Curcic (Nobel), Russell Posner (Louder Than Bombs), and newcomer Gus Birney.
