When taking a long road trip, it's best to plan ahead. Maybe, have a good mixed-tape at hand, especially when you need to relieve the inevitable boredom. So, when a preacher, an assassin, and an Irish vampire decide to take a cross-country trip together, the only way to brighten up the mood is to play the infectiously catchy 1980s tune "Come On Eileen" by Dexys Midnight Runners. We can't think of a better way to turn a dull car ride into a rollicking jam session. Which is precisely what occurs in the first trailer for the forthcoming second season of AMC's supernatural action series "Preacher."

Starring Dominic Cooper (Agent Carter), recent Oscar nominee Ruth Negga (Loving), and Joseph Gilgun (This Is England), the Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen-created AMC drama is based on the cult 90s comic book series by writer Garth Ennis and artist Steve Dillon. The show, which is being handled by showrunner Sam Catlin, of "Breaking Bad" fame, will continue the (mis)adventures of Jesse Custer, a hard-drinking Texan preacher who becomes possessed by a supernatural deity, granting him the power to manipulate people's wills.

"Preacher: Season 2" has Jesse Custer (Cooper) taking a chaotic road trip with his ex-assassin girlfriend, Tulip (Negga), and his new best friend, a foul-mouthed vampire named Cassidy (Gilgun) as they go searching for God in America. The series is set to return on Sunday, June 25.

synopsis:
When Texas preacher Jesse Custer is inhabited by the renegade spawn of an angel and a demon, he gains the power to control people with just a word. Now Jesse, his badass ex Tulip, and his friend Cassidy (who happens to be a vampire) are thrust into a twisted battle spanning Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between.
