She may be a child's doll, but she ain't no Barbie, that's for sure.

Annabelle, the creepy porcelain doll from the blockbuster horror movie "The Conjuring," has returned for a second solo film, following the 2014 spin-off, which made over 250 million dollars worldwide. This time, audiences are getting a chance to see how Annabelle got her start. The story will focus on a dollmaker whose latest "creation" turns into a real menace when it becomes possessed by a demonic force, which is first thought to be the spirit of the dollmaker's dead child.

"Annabelle: Creation" is directed by David F. Sandberg, the horror filmmaker behind last year's sleeper hit "Lights Out," and it stars Anthony LaPaglia (TV's Without a Trace), Miranda Otto (The Lord of the Rings Trilogy), Stephanie Sigman (Spectre), Talitha Bateman (The 5th Wave), and Lulu Wilson (Ouija 2).

Written by "Annabelle" scribe Gary Dauberman, the film is due to hit theaters on August 11th. In the meantime, you can check out the newly-released trailer, above, which just debuted this weekend at WonderCon.
