"Girls" actor Alex Karpovsky and Wyatt Russell, from Richard Linklater's "Everybody Wants Some," make a quirky onscreen pair in the newly-released trailer for the road comedy "Folk Hero & Funny Guy."

The film, which marks the directorial and writing debut of actor Jeff Grace, follows a struggling stand-up comedian (played by Karpovsky), who heads out on a cross-country tour with his folk-rock star best friend (Russell). Along the way, they become friends with a young alluring folk singer (played by Meredith Hagner, from HBO's "Veep" and TBS' "Search Party") who's trying to break into the business.

Boasting a strong supporting cast that includes David Cross, Michael Ian Black, Melanie Lynskey, Hannah Simone, and Heather Morris, "Folk Hero & Funny Guy" will be released in theaters and on VOD/iTunes on May 12th.

synopsis:
Struggling stand-up comedian Paul hits the road to open for his successful rocker buddy Jason in this music-infused spin on the road-trip comedy. Bonds are tested when songbird, Bryn, joins the tour and Jason's ulterior motive is revealed.
