added: Thu, Mar 23rd '17

Amazon has released the trailer for season two of the Arctic-set psychological mystery series "Fortitude," in which Dennis Quaid now leads the cast.

The drama, written and created by Simon Donald (Low Winter Sun), originally aired in the States on the now-defunct Pivot cable network. But after streaming the first season for Prime members, Amazon has decided to come aboard, picking up the second season, which revolves around another mysterious death that turns the small snow-covered community of Fortitude on its head.

Danish actress Sofie Grabol (from the acclaimed Danish series "The Killing") and "Game of Thrones" actor Richard Dormer are back for the new season as well as Sienna Guillory (Stan Lee's Lucky Man), Luke Treadaway (Unbroken), and Bjorn Hlynur Haraldsson (The Borgias). Meanwhile, Michelle Fairley (Game of Thrones), Ken Stott (The Hobbit trilogy) and Edvin Endre (Vikings) have joined Quaid as new additions to the cast.

"Fortitude: Season 2" is currently airing in the UK, but will make its US debut on Friday, April 14th on Amazon.

As we rejoin Fortitude, the residents have overcome the parasites that tore their peaceful community apart. But their respite from chaos is set to be short lived with the mainland cutting off funding and supplies just as Fortitude is rocked by another mysterious death, setting off a chain of events even more shocking than the last. Welcome Back.
