Oscar and Emmy-winner Frances McDormand has a few choice words for Woody Harrelson and Sam Rockwell in the newly-released red band trailer for the pitch-black dramedy "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri."

Written and directed by acclaimed Irish filmmaker Martin McDonagh, who is known for his salty, acerbic writing and directing style in such films as "In Bruges" and "Seven Psychopaths," the upcoming movie sees McDormand as an incensed small-town protester who has put up three controversial billboards as a way to show her strong disapproval of the town's chief of police (played by Harrelson), who has yet to solve her daughter's murder. Things come to a boil when the majority of the town starts to side with the chief -- though, McDormand's character isn't a woman who backs down so easily.

Sam Rockwell, Peter Dinklage, John Hawkes, Abbie Cornish, Caleb Landry Jones, Zeljko Ivanek, Nick Searcy, Clarke Peters, and recent Oscar-nominee Lucas Hedges co-star.

"Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri" will open in theaters later in the year.

synopsis:
THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING, MISSOURI is a darkly comic drama from Academy Award winner Martin McDonagh (IN BRUGES). After months have passed without a culprit in her daughter’s murder case, Mildred Hayes (Academy Award winner Frances McDormand) makes a bold move, painting three signs leading into her town with a controversial message directed at William Willoughby (Academy Award nominee Woody Harrelson), the town's revered chief of police. When his second-in-command Officer Dixon (Sam Rockwell), an immature mother’s boy with a penchant for violence, gets involved, the battle between Mildred and Ebbing's law enforcement is only exacerbated.
