DreamWorks Animation has released the first trailer for the upcoming big-screen adaptation of author-illustrator Dav Pilkey's wildly successful kids book series "Captain Underpants," about two young prank-loving best-friends who carelessly hypnotize their ill-tempered principal into thinking he's an overly enthusiastic superhero despite not having any discernible talent or superpowers.

Featuring the voices of comedian Kevin Hart, "Silicon Valley" star Thomas Middleditch, comedian Nick Kroll (Sing), comedian Jordan Peele (Keanu), and "The Hangover" and "The Office" star Ed Helms as Captain Underpants/Principal Krupp, the film is directed by "Turbo" helmer David Soren from a screenplay written by comedy writer-director Nicholas Stoller (Storks, Neighbors 2, The Five-Year Engagement, Get Him to the Greek).

"Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie" will be released in theaters this summer on June 2nd.

Based on the worldwide sensation and bestselling book series, and boasting an A-list cast of comedy superstars headed by Kevin Hart and Ed Helms, DreamWorks Animation brings audiences the long-awaited global movie event, CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS: THE FIRST EPIC MOVIE. This raucously subversive comedy for the entire family tells the story of two overly imaginative pranksters named George and Harold, who hypnotize their principal into thinking he’s a ridiculously enthusiastic, incredibly dimwitted superhero named Captain Underpants.
