Check out the five-minute opening scene for the upcoming live-action adaptation of the classic cyberpunk manga series "Ghost in the Shell," starring Scarlett Johansson as a cybernetic super-agent called Major as she tracks down a squad of hit men about to assassinate the president of a Robotics company.

Created by Japanese artist Masamune Shirow, and inspired by the popular 1995 anime movie. "Ghost in the Shell" stars Johansson as a human-cyborg hybrid who leads an elite task force called Section 9, assigned to stop dangerous criminals and extremists against the advancements of cyber technology. Leading the charge of the terrorist group is an elusive cybernetic mastermind called Kuze (played by Michael Pitt), who has already uncovered many dark corporate secrets including one from Major's past.

Directed by Rupert Sanders ("Snow White and the Huntsman"), the film also co-stars Juliette Binoche, Pilou Asbaek, and veteran Japanese actor Takeshi Kitano. "Ghost in the Shell" aims to open wide on March 31st.

In the near future, Major (Scarlett Johansson) is the first of her kind: A human saved from a terrible crash, who is cyber-enhanced to be a perfect soldier devoted to stopping the world's most dangerous criminals. When terrorism reaches a new level that includes the ability to hack into people's minds and control them, Major is uniquely qualified to stop it. As she prepares to face a new enemy, Major discovers that she has been lied to: her life was not saved, it was stolen. She will stop at nothing to recover her past, find out who did this to her and stop them before they do it to others.
