"Kong: Skull Island" star Brie Larson goes from trying to survive on an uncharted island filled with giant man-eating monsters to trying to survive inside an abandoned warehouse filled with deadly gun-running criminals in a new profanity-laden international trailer for "Free Fire."
The forthcoming action film, which is the latest offering from prolific British cult filmmaker Ben Wheatley (High-Rise, Sightseers) and executive produced by Martin Scorsese, appears to be a high-octane thrill ride laced with dark-comic absurdities.
Set in Boston in 1978, Larson plays a shady American mediator who has brokered a secret underground arms deal between Irish rebels (led by Peaky Blinders' Cillian Murphy and Luther's Michael Smiley) and a crazed South African gun-runner (played by District 9's Sharlto Copley). But when the deal suddenly falls apart, things quickly deteriorate to a point where it's every man (and woman) for themselves.
Also starring Armie Hammer (The Lone Ranger), Jack Reynor (Sing Street), Noah Taylor (Game of Thrones), Sam Riley (Maleficent), and Babou Ceesay (Eye in the Sky), "Free Fire" will open first in the UK on March 31st before arriving in the States on April 21st.
