Prepare to travel back in time to the swinging '70s when couples were all about free love and open marriages.

Here's the new U.S. trailer for "The Commune," the latest film from acclaimed Danish filmmaker Thomas Vinterberg (Far from the Madding Crowd, The Hunt, The Celebration).

Starring Danish actors Ulrich Thomsen (from the Cinemax series "Banshee") and Trine Dyrholm (star of Susanne Bier's romantic comedy "Love Is All You Need"), the 1970s-set film follows a progressive group of middle-class Danish couples as they come together to form a free-love commune -- which turns out to be a concept that works better in theory than in practice.

Co-starring Fares Fares (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Helene Reingaard Neumann (Submarino) and Lars Ranthe (The Hunt), "The Commune" was written by Vinterberg and Danish screenwriter-turned-filmmaker Tobias Lindholm (The Hunt, A Hijacking, A War). The film will be released in the States in theaters and VOD beginning May 19th.

synopsis:
Erik and Anna are a professional couple with a dream. Along with their daughter Freja, they set up a commune in Erik’s huge villa in the upmarket district of Copenhagen. With the family in the center of the story, we are invited into the dream of a real commune; we participate in the house meetings, dinners and parties. It is friendship, love and togetherness under one roof until an earth-shattering love affair puts the community and the commune to its greatest test.
