Oscar-winner Melissa Leo is "The Most Hated Woman in America" in the newly-released trailer for the true-crime drama about the real-life tragic story of Madalyn Murray O'Hair, a staunch atheist activist who played a key role in the 1963 landmark Supreme Court ruling that barred mandatory Bible-reading in American public schools, but later disappeared in 1995 due to a convoluted, bizarre extortion and kidnapping plot.

The Netflix film, co-written and directed by Tommy O'Haver (An American Crime, Ella Enchanted, Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss), also stars Josh Lucas, Adam Scott, Vincent Kartheiser, Juno Temple, Michael Chernus, Rory Cochrane, Peter Fonda, and Sally Kirkland.

"The Most Hated Woman in America" will be making its world premiere this weekend at the SXSW Film Festival, before premiering on Netflix on Friday, March 24th.
