Emmy-winning "Mr. Robot" star Rami Malek is having a tough time adjusting to his new night-time job in the new trailer for the mind-twisting indie movie "Buster's Mal Heart."

Written, directed, and edited by indie filmmaker Sarah Adina Smith (The Midnight Swim), the offbeat thriller, which appears to be equal parts psychological mystery and deadpan comedy, focuses on a strangely quiet family man (played by Malek) who starts to lose his grip on reality shortly after being assigned to work the graveyard shift as the overnight clerk at a second-rate hotel. Though determined to remain calm and clear-headed, he is plagued by strange visions of an alternative life (or possible future) in which he is a heavily bearded hermit, who goes by the name "Buster."

Co-starring Mark Kelly, Kate Lyn Sheil, and DJ Qualls, "Buster's Mal Heart" was warmly received at last year's Toronto International Film Festival. It's now slated for a theatrical release on April 28th.
