Word to the wise: If you're going to poke a low-wattage wand at a strange alien life form from Mars, you better be prepared for a quick retaliation. So, in other words, don't poke the bear unless you're looking to get mauled.

Check out a new extended sneak peek clip from "Life," the space-set horror thriller starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Ryan Reynolds, and Rebecca Ferguson as astronauts on a scientific mission to gather the first evidence of alien life on Mars.

British actor Ariyon Bakare, from BBC's supernatural magician series "Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell," is seen in the above clip, playing an astronaut-scientist who's trying to "wake up" a highly sophisticated and rapidly evolving Martian life form, only to quickly find out that it doesn't particularly like being poked or prodded by strangers.

Directed by Daniel Espinosa (Safe House, Child 44) from a script written by "Deadpool" scribes Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, "Life" also stars Hiroyuki Sanada and Olga Dihovichnaya and it's currently slated for a March 24th theatrical release.

synopsis:
Life tells the story of the six-member crew of the International Space Station that is on the cutting edge of one of the most important discoveries in human history: the first evidence of extraterrestrial life on Mars. As the crew begins to conduct research, their methods end up having unintended consequences and the life form proves more intelligent than anyone ever expected.
