Opposites do attract as Diane Keaton and Brendan Gleeson make an unlikely yet cute couple in the newly-released international trailer for the British romantic comedy "Hampstead," which also stars James Norton (from the hit British miniseries "War & Peace") as Keaton's British adult son.
Keaton plays an American widow living in London. It's been a year after her husband has passed away when she strikes up a romantic friendship with a brooding British recluse (Gleeson), who learns he's being evicted by greedy land developers. Soon, his eviction case becomes the focus of a local grassroots campaign called "Save the Shack." The "shack" being his run-down, ramshackle home.
Said to be inspired by a true story, "Hampstead" is directed by English helmer Joel Hopkins (Last Chance Harvey, The Love Punch) from a script by "In the Bedroom" co-scribe Robert Festinger.
Lesley Manville (Another Year), Jason Watkins (TV's Taboo), and Phil Davis (Mr. Holmes) co-star in the film, which is set to open in the U.K. on June 23rd.
An American widow finds unexpected love with a man living wild on Hampstead Heath when they take on the developers who want to destroy his home.
