"Ladies and gentlemen, we have ourselves a homicide..." And it appears "Seven" and "Zodiac" director David Fincher is returning to the serial-killer genre, this time producing his second Netflix series, "Mindhunter," which has released a teaser trailer, featuring the first look at the crime mystery drama, which is slated for an October release.

The ten-episode series takes place in the late 70's and will focus on a pair of FBI agents who interview imprisoned serial killers as they try to enter the state of their criminal minds as a way to help solve their ongoing investigations. Jonathan Groff (HBO's Looking) and Holt McCallany (Fight Club) star as lead detectives Holden Ford and Bill Tench of the FBI's Behavioral Science Unit, while Anna Torv (TV's Fringe) is the Bureau's on-call psychologist to help assist their everyday crisis.

Based on the book "Mind Hunter: Inside FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit" by writer Mark Olshaker and John E. Douglas, who was a real-life criminal profiler that helped catch and imprison murders, rapists, kidnappers and assassins that included Charles Manson, Sirhan Sirhan, Richard Speck, John Wayne Gacy, David Berkowitz, James Earl Ray and Ted Bundy.

Penned and showrunned by Joe Penhall (The Road) and co-produced by Charlize Theron, with the pilot episode directed by David Fincher, "Mindhunter" is scheduled to start streaming sometime in October 2017.
