Sure, in space, no one can hear you scream. But they can certainly see you tremble in fear.

Check out a new official trailer for "Alien: Covenant," director Ridley Scott's much-anticipated sequel to "Prometheus," and the latest entry in the beloved "Alien" franchise.

"Fantastic Beasts" actress Katherine Waterston, comedian Danny McBride (in a rare dramatic role), Billy Crudup, and Michael Fassbender star as crew members of a colony ship called "Covenant," whose mission is to explore and prepare a distant planet for colonization.

The thing is: much of the territory, although suitable for human life (there's wheat!), is already inhabited by a mysterious predatory species, known in the "Alien" universe as xenomorphs -- you know, those creepy long-tailed monsters with a hard exoskeleton and acid for blood.

Also among the cast are Carmen Ejogo (Selma), Demian Bichir (The Hateful Eight), Amy Seimetz (TV's The Killing), Jussie Smollett (TV's Empire), and James Franco as the captain of the 'Covenant' ship. Meanwhile, Fassbender is playing dual android roles, David from the Prometheus crew, and the new and improved model, Walter, from the Covenant team.

Written by three-time Oscar-nominated screenwriter John Logan (Spectre, Gladiator) and filmmaker Dante Harper from a story by Jack Paglen and Michael Green, "Alien: Covenant" will be hitting theaters May 19th.
