Alien: Covenant — Special Sneak Peek: 'Prologue: Last Supper'

It's all fun and games until someone suddenly starts having a severe coughing fit.

Check out a special extended 'prologue' clip from director Ridley Scott's hotly anticipated sci-fi horror "Alien: Covenant," which is the sixth film in the Alien franchise and the sequel to the 2012 Alien prequel "Prometheus."

The sneak peek footage, which just premiered during Wednesday night's airing of FX's schizophrenic mutant series "Legion," offers a better look at the Covenant crew, played by Katherine Waterston, Michael Fassbender, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Carmen Ejogo, Demian Bichir, Callie Hernandez, Amy Seimetz, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England, Benjamin Rigby, Jussie Smollett, Uli Latukefu, and James Franco.

Evoking much of the same suspenseful dread as felt in Scott's original 1979 Alien film, the upcoming thriller centers on the crew members of a colony ship called "Covenant." They're on a historic mission to colonize a distant planet. But things go awry when they discover the planet is inhabited by a terrifying race of predatory creatures.

Fassbender is actually playing two roles in the film, the synthetic android, David, from the unlucky Prometheus crew and the new and improved model, Walter, from the Covenant crew, who's seen in the above clip as an astute android with a firm hand.

"Alien: Covenant" is due to hit theaters on May 19th.
