A stunned Anne Hathaway discovers she has a strange psychic connection with a rampaging Godzilla-like monster in the new full-length trailer for "Colossal," which also stars comedian Jason Sudeikis.

From Spanish writer-director Nacho Vigalondo, best known for the cult 2007 time-travel thriller "Timecrimes" and the 2012 alien-invasion rom-com "Extraterrestrial," "Colossal" is a darkly comedic take on the kaiju genre, in which Hathaway plays a newly unemployed barfly who returns to her hometown in the hopes of finding some inner peace, only to discover her outer self is literally racked with chaos and destruction -- not to mention that she is somehow psychically linked with a giant creature that is currently turning Seoul, Korea into a hellish war zone.

Sudeikis and Tim Blake Nelson play Hathaway's old friends from home, who are absolutely shocked that she can, indeed, control the monster with a simple gesture of her hands and feet.

Co-starring Austin Stowell (Bridge of Spies) and with an appearance by Beauty and the Beast's Dan Stevens as Hathaway's ex-boyfriend, "Colossal" is slated to stomp into theaters on April 7th.

synopsis:
Gloria (Anne Hathaway) is a hard partying New York scene girl who is thrust into crisis when her boyfriend, Tim (Dan Stevens), grows sick of her antics and kicks her out of their apartment. With no other options, she moves back to her hometown and quickly regresses, drinking every night until last call and accepting a job at a bar owned by her childhood friend Oscar (Jason Sudeikis). One day she wakes up and blurrily finds out that Seoul was terrorized by a giant creature the night before. Eventually, Gloria begins to suspect her own drunken actions are bizarrely connected to the monster rampaging in South Korea.
