Turning Disney's beloved 1990 animated musical "Beauty and the Beast" into a live-action, photo-real spectacle was a major undertaking. But the cast members seem to have taken it all in stride.
Take a behind-the-scenes peek at Disney's latest fairy tale retelling as Emma Watson (who plays Belle), Dan Stevens (The Beast), Luke Evans (Gaston), Josh Gad ( Le Fou) and the rest of the cast explain to viewers that the classic French fairy-tale romance is not only being retold for a new generation but they are also expanding the story with more detail and depth.
Directed by Bill Condon, of "Dreamgirls" fame, the fantasy musical, which will feature several new songs as well as new recordings of the award-winning music, will be hitting theaters next month, on March 17th.

Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" is a live-action re-telling of the studio's animated classic which refashions the classic characters from the tale as old as time for a contemporary audience, staying true to the original music while updating the score with several new songs. "Beauty and the Beast" is the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle's enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast's hideous exterior and realize the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within.
