Stand-up comedian and former "Daily Show" correspondent Demetri Martin directs, writes, produces, and stars in "Dean," an offbeat Westcoast/Eastcoast, Father-Son comedy about a socially-awkward illustrator named Dean (Martin), who strikes up a romantic relationship with a woman (Gillian Jacobs) he'd just met at a friend's house party in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, Dean's newly widowed father, Robert (Kevin Kline) is still reeling from the death of his wife and Dean's mother, but embarks on his own romantic tryst with a real estate agent (Mary Steenburgen) who -- despite Dean's wishes to keep his childhood home -- has been hired to sell Robert's New York house.

The film, co-starring Veep's Reid Scott, comedian Rory Scovel, and Ginger Gonzaga, made its world premiere last year at the Tribeca Film Festival, where it received the Jury Award for Best Feature.

"Dean," which is Martin's directorial debut, will be released in theaters on June 2nd.

A comedy about loss, grief and the redemptive power of love, Dean is a NY illustrator who falls hard for an LA woman while trying to prevent his father from selling the family home in the wake of his mother's death.
