Arrival — 10-Minute Extended Film Clip

added: Mon, Feb 13th '17

Nominated for eight Oscars, including Best Film, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay, "Arrival" is coming to Blu-Ray this week. And viewers can now check out a newly-released 10-minute extended film clip, featuring Amy Adams as expert linguist Louise Banks. She's been called in by the U.S. government to broker a kind of peaceful resolution with extraterrestrial beings who have just arrived on Earth for unknown reasons.

In the above clip, Adams' linguist character explains the fundamentals of understanding language and the importance of communicating with focus and clarity as a word or a phrase can easily be misinterpreted as something more sinister or aggressive than its actual intent.

Directed by Denis Villeneuve, and co-starring Jeremy Renner and Forest Whitaker, "Arrival" is due out on Blu-Ray tomorrow, February 14th.

When mysterious spacecrafts touch down across the globe, an elite team -- lead by expert linguist Louise Banks (Amy Adams) -- is brought together to investigate. As mankind teeters on the verge of global war, Banks and the team race against time for answers -- and to find them, she will take a chance that could threaten her life, and quite possibly humanity.
