It's a small town with a deadly mystery. And "True Blood" star Anna Paquin is on the case!

Check out the trailer for "Bellevue," a new Canadian detective thriller series starring the Canadian-born New Zealand Oscar-winner as a feisty police investigator who is determined to crack a missing-person case, involving the strange disappearance of a bullied transgender teen from the small mining town of Bellevue, Alberta, Canada.

The eight-episode drama, created by Jane Maggs (Madiba) and Adrienne Mitchell (Bomb Girls), also stars Shawn Doyle (from Syfy's "The Expanse" and FX's "Fargo") and former "Downton Abbey" actor Allen Leech.

"Bellevue" is set to debut on Canadian television on Monday, February 20th.

BELLEVUE is an edgy, eerie 8x60 mystery thriller, set in a small blue-collar town with a lot of 'good people' who 'live right' and take it upon themselves to see that the neighbors do too. Driving the series is 28-year-old Annie Ryder a cop whose intense and brazen personality has always been at odds with her hometown.

With the recent disappearance of transgender teenager Jesse Sweetland, she dives fiercely into unraveling the mystery, despite having to cast suspicion on people she's known all her life. Just as Annie begins the search for Jesse, a stranger in a bar gives her a note -- in the form of a riddle -- with the message that the author of the riddle can help with the missing kid. Annie realizes there is nothing straightforward about this case. She also realizes ... he's back!
