"Avengers: Infinity War" won't be hitting theaters until May of next year. But that hasn't deterred Marvel Studios from unveiling a now-in-production preview, which is giving fans a quick and early peek at day one of what will be a year-long shoot.

The clip, featuring cast members Robert Downey Jr. (aka Iron Man), Tom Holland (aka Spider-Man), and Chris Pratt (aka Star-Lord), spends most of its time looking back at the previous Marvel films as Marvel honcho Kevin Feige explains that "Infinity War" is the hard-earned culmination of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, which began with the original 2008 "Iron Man" movie.

With the Avengers still divided since the events of "Civil War," the world has never been more vulnerable. Enter, purple-colored supervillain Thanos (as played by Josh Brolin), who is described by Feige as "the biggest, the best, and the baddest villain we ever had. And the most frightening villain The Avengers has ever faced." Maybe, it's a good thing that The Avengers won't be alone in this fight as the Guardians of the Galaxy will be entering the fray.

Directed by the Russo Brothers, "Avengers: Infinity War" is currently slated for a May 4, 2018 release.
