Resident Evil: Vendetta — Trailer

Sony Pictures has released the official U.S. trailer for "Resident Evil: Vendetta," a new CG-animated movie based on the popular horror videogame franchise, executive produced by Japanese horror filmmaker Takashi Shimizu, best known for the "Grudge" series, and directed by Japanese animator Takashi Tsujimoto, of "Next Generation Patlabor."

The animated film serves as a promotional tie-in for Capcom's Resident Evil 7 videogame "Biohazard," in which the story takes place just before the events of the game. There's a new deadly virus in New York City that is threatening fan-favorite characters, government agents Leon Kennedy and Chris Redfield.

"Resident Evil: Vendetta" will arrive in Japan on May 27th with a U.S. release to follow in the summer.
