The life of iconic '90s rapper Tupac Shakur is headed to the big screen. And now there's a new trailer to give fans something to shout about.

Starring newcomer (and Tupac lookalike) Demetrius Shipp Jr., "All Eyez on Me" is charting the legendary rapper's life and music career. It will also detail Tupac's much-publicized West Coast-East Coast rivalry with fellow slain rapper Christopher 'Biggie Smalls' Wallace (once again played by Jamal Woolard; star of the 2009 Biggie Smalls biopic "Notorious").

"The Walking Dead" star Danai Gurira is co-starring in the film as Tupac's mother, Afeni Shakur. She can be heard in the above trailer warning Tupac about potential dangers in his life: "Son, this ain't just about you. Like all black men, you have a bullseye on your back. They are gonna come after you and everything you love. They are gonna give you the tools that you need to destroy yourself. Above all else: To thine own self be true."

Directed by veteran music video director and "Next Day Air" helmer Benny Boom, the film also co-stars Dominic L. Santana as Suge Knight; Kat Graham (The Vampire Diaries) as a young Jada Pinkett; Grace Gibson (Black Nativity) as R&B singer Faith Evans and Harold House Moore (Single Ladies) as Dr Dre.

"All Eyez on Me" will be released in theaters on Friday, June 16th -- which is a day that would have been Tupac's 46th birthday.

synopsis:
The film will focus on the career of Tupac all the way to the fatal drive-by shooting in Las Vegas in 1996.
