So, who the hell is John Lakeman? Well, he's an American Patriot -- and he's the oddest undercover spy and folk singer you'll ever meet.

Amazon has released the official trailer for their newest original series "Patriot," starring New Zealand-born Aussie actor Michael Dorman (The Water Diviner, Daybreakers) as a weary undercover U.S. operative who is tasked with preventing Iran from gaining nuclear capabilities. As part of his mission, he must hide behind a bogus identity -- that of John Lakeman, a mid-level executive at an industrial piping company. While living in a constant state of fear and stress, he's able to blow off steam by performing folk music at local coffee houses -- although, his lyrics can be quite revealing and perhaps too insightful at times.

The offbeat spy series also stars Terry O'Quinn (Lost), Michael Chernus (Orange Is the New Black), Kathleen Munroe (Resurrection), and Swedish actress Aliette Opheim with appearances by Kurtwood Smith (Robocop), Hana Mae Lee (Pitch Perfect), and Gil Bellows (The Shawshank Redemption).

Steven Conrad, the screenwriter of "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty," "The Weather Man," and "The Pursuit of Happyness," created the quirky Amazon series, based on a story idea he co-wrote with actor Gil Bellows. Conrad also wrote and directed the hour-long pilot episode, which is currently available for streaming. The rest of the first season will be released on Friday, February 24th.
