His mutant healing powers might be waning, but his physical strength is very much intact.
Watch a heavily bearded Hugh Jackman scare off a couple of slack-jawed yokels as a grizzled yet still menacing Wolverine in a newly-released film clip from "Logan."
The comic book film is, of course, set in an alternate near future where mutants (or, what's left of them, anyway) have been forced to go into hiding. With the X-men now gone, Jackman's Wolverine -- who only goes by Logan these days -- finds himself becoming the guardian of a mysterious 11-year-old mutant girl (who might or might not be his offspring) as they're pursued by an elite team of mutant hunters.
Before all that, though, Logan reunites with a very sick Professor Charles Xavier (again played by the great, Patrick Stewart) and befriends a sympathetic rancher (Eriq La Salle, featured in the above clip) who, apparently, has a serious water dispute with his new landlords.
Co-written and directed by "3:10 to Yuma" and "Walk the Line" helmer James Mangold (this is his second comic book movie, following 2013's "The Wolverine"), "Logan" is opening nationwide on March 3rd.
In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X in a hideout on the Mexican border. But Logan's attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant arrives, being pursued by dark forces.
