To make sure the local beaches remain a safe environment for all, Dwayne Johnson goes well beyond the traditional requirements of his lifeguard job in the new Super Bowl trailer for "Baywatch."

In this comedic take on the campy 1990s TV show of the same name, Johnson plays lifeguard hero Mitch Buchannon (a character that was originally played by David Hasselhoff in the long-running TV series).

Mitch is the leader of a Californian lifeguard unit, which now has added a new cocky, yet blockheaded rookie (played by Zac Efron). When an international criminal (played by TV's "Quantico" star Priyanka Chopra) unexpectedly arrives on the scene, Mitch springs into action, relying on his lifeguard squad to back him up.

Helmed by "Horrible Bosses" director Seth Gordon, the action comedy also stars Alexandra Daddario, Kelly Rohrbach, Rob Huebel, Jon Bass, and Ilfenesh Hadera.

"Baywatch" hits theaters May 26th.
