Murder, death, and fashion. Kristen Stewart's new film has all the makings of an old-fashioned Hitchcockian tale, but with a French-European twist.
Reuniting with her "Clouds of Sils Maria" director Olivier Assayas, Stewart plays a personal assistant to a fashion celebrity in the upcoming Paris-set thriller "Personal Shopper." While believing her recently dead twin brother is trying to contact her from the afterlife, Stewart's character finds herself spiraling into an emotionally fragile state of fear and despair.
The film, which received a frosty reception at last year's Cannes Film Festival -- although Assayas took home the Best Director award and several critics had good things to say about Stewart's performance, is coming to U.S. theaters on March 10th.
Olivier Assayas, the internationally-acclaimed director of Clouds of Sils Maria and Summer Hours, returns with this ethereal and mysterious ghost story starring Kristen Stewart as a high-fashion personal shopper to the stars who is also a spiritual medium. Grieving the recent death of her twin brother, she haunts his Paris home, determined to make contact with him.
