Ahead of its Super Bowl debut, Paramount Pictures has gone ahead and released this new 30-second "Big Game" commercial for "Ghost in the Shell," which is the highly-anticipated film adaptation of the classic cyberpunk manga series and anime franchise created by legendary Japanese artist Masamune Shirow.
Here, Scarlett Johansson stars as a terrorist-hunting human-cyborg super-agent named "Major," who unearths a few shocking secrets about her past while trying to track down an elusive cyber-terrorist.
Visually ambitious, if not a faithful re-creation of the comic book's striking graphics, the upcoming sci-fi movie is the second feature film directed by English commercial helmer Rupert Sanders, following his 2012 debut "Snow White and the Huntsman."
The cast also includes Juliette Binoche, Pilou Asbaek, Michael Pitt, Chin Han, Rila Fukushima, and veteran Japanese actor Takeshi Kitano.
"Ghost in the Shell" will open nationwide on March 31st.
