Never underestimate the power of a high school misfit with a mission to stick it to the man.

Check out the trailer for "Speech & Debate," the film adaptation of acclaimed playwright Stephen Karam's 2007 off-Broadway comedic play about three teenage outsiders -- a frumpy theater geek (played by The Good Wife's Sarah Steele), a nerdy school reporter (The Way Way Back's Liam James) and an openly gay student (Austin P. McKenzie) -- who decide to rail against adult hypocrisy by reviving their school's defunct speech-and-debate club.

Among the supporting cast are Roger Bart, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Kal Penn, Janeane Garofalo, Sarah Baker, and Skylar Astin with cameo appearances by Hamlet's Lin-Manuel Miranda and Glee's Darren Criss.

Filmmaker Dan Harris, whose credits include co-writing "X-Men 2" and "Superman Returns," directs "Speech & Debate" from an adapted screenplay by Karam. The film is Harris's second directed feature, following his acclaimed 2004 drama "Imaginary Heroes" with Sigourney Weaver and Emile Hirsch.

"Speech & Debate" hits theaters and VOD on April 7th.
