"It Follows" and "Independence Day: Resurgence" actress Maika Monroe encounters a bizarre phenomenon in the Iceland-set mystery drama "Bokeh," which also stars Matt O'Leary (The Lone Ranger, Brick).

Written and directed by first-time filmmakers Geoffrey Orthwein and Andrew Sullivan, "Bokeh" follows a young American couple (Monroe and O'Leary) as they travel to Iceland for a romantic adventure. Shortly after arriving in the city of Reykjavik, they can't help but realize that a truly bizarre phenomenon had occurred overnight. Everyone in town has completely vanished, leading them to believe that they're the only ones left in a now unpopulated world. But were they left behind for a reason?

"Bokeh" will have its world premiere this weekend at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. And it's currently set to open theatrically on March 24th.

On a romantic getaway to Iceland, a young American couple wake up one morning to discover everyone on earth has disappeared. Their struggle to survive and to reconcile the mysterious event lead them to reconsider everything they know about themselves and the world.
