Fresh from its world premiere at this year's Sundance, Paramount has released a sneak-peek clip from "An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power," the follow-up to former Vice President Al Gore's Oscar-winning global-warming documentary "An Inconvenient Truth."
The documentary sequel comes eleven years after the original film as Al Gore continues to educate the public about the destructive effects of climate change. In the above clip, Gore shows how the warning signs, 11 years ago, were quickly dismissed as "ridiculous" by global warming naysayers. Today, those same exact warning signs can't be so easily criticized or ignored.
Slated to open in theaters on July 28th, "An Inconvenient Sequel" is directed by Bonni Cohen and Jon Shenk, who both helmed Netflix's disturbing teen-assault doc. "Audrie & Daisy."
Climate Changes, Truth Does Not.
A decade after AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH brought climate change into the heart of popular culture, comes the riveting and rousing follow-up that shows just how close we are to a real energy revolution. Vice President Al Gore continues his tireless fight traveling around the world training an army of climate champions and influencing international climate policy. Cameras follow him behind the scenes -- in moments both private and public, funny and poignant -- as he pursues the inspirational idea that while the stakes have never been higher, the perils of climate change can be overcome with human ingenuity and passion.
