Dax Shepard and Michael Pena are ready to make the streets of Los Angeles safe again as they star in the new action buddy-cop comedy "CHiPs." Check out the debut trailer for the film that's based on the 1970s television series of the same name.

Dax Shepard writes, directs, and stars as California Highway Patrolman Jon Baker, while Ant-Man's Michael Pena plays his new partner Frank "Ponch" Poncherello. In the original series Erik Estrada starred as Francis Llewellyn Poncherello, a young, macho, rambunctious motorcycle cop while his partner Jon Baker (originally played by Larry Wilcox) was the straitlaced officer who kept "Ponch" in check and out of danger. In this new take, Jon (Shepard) seems to be the out-of-control one while his new partner "Ponch" (Pena) is actually a wise, cool-headed FBI agent going deep undercover in order to find a dirty cop.

Shepard's real-life wife Kristen Bell also appears in the movie as his on-screen wife. Meanwhile, "Daredevil" and "Jurassic World" star Vincent D'Onofrio steps in as the film's main villain: Vic Brown, a former LAPD officer who betrayed his badge and is now a car-stealing crime lord.

"CHiPs" is set to roll out into theaters starting on March 24th.
