Young orphan children and stray teens come together to form a small community when they're left to fend for themselves in post-apocalyptic America. That's the basic setup for "Go North," a Lord of the Flies-type thriller, starring Jacob Lofland (Mud, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials) and Sophie Kennedy Clark (The Danish Girl, Philomena) as two young survivors who decide to escape their makeshift community for the chance of a better life.

Executive produced by Morgan Spurlock and directed by documentarian Matt Ogens (Meet the Hitlers, Confessions of a Superhero), "Go North" also stars Patrick Schwarzenegger (son of Arnold; Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse), Joshua Close (The Master) and James Bloor (upcoming Leatherface).

The film will have both a small theatrical and VOD release on January 13, 2017. In the meantime, check out the newly-released trailer, above, (via EW.com).

synopsis:
A few years from now, something will happen that will change our world. A global event that causes pandemonium, chaos, and death. Life as we know it will never be the same. Left behind are abandoned buildings, empty streets, and other painful reminders of a better yesterday. Not a single adult remains, all victims of this global catastrophe.

The only survivors are teenagers and children, living on the streets in the hollowed out shell of a once great city. This is their world now. They make their own rules and enforce their own laws. Some are merely trying to survive, while others rule by force.
