BBC has released the trailer for the upcoming two-part British TV movie "The Witness for the Prosecution," which is based on a classic short story by famed English crime novelist Agatha Christie.

Following the global success of another Agatha Christie TV adaptation "And Then There Were None," acclaimed British TV writer Sarah Phelps adapts the teleplay, for which Julian Jarrold, the director of "Kinky Boots" and "The Crown," was at the helm.

Centering around the mysterious death of a 1920s heiress and the murder trial that ensues, the TV drama features a strong cast led by Toby Jones, Andrea Riseborough, Billy Howle, and Kim Cattrall.

"The Witness for the Prosecution" is scheduled to premiere in the UK on BBC One beginning on the day after Christmas (aka Boxing Day), Monday, December 26, 2016 -- as of yet, there is no U.S. air date.
