The "Fast and Furious" franchise heads into a whole new direction as family ties are tested and transformed.
Check out the just-released official trailer for "The Fate of the Furious," the highly anticipated eighth film in the Vin Diesel-led franchise, which is introducing a whole new villain named 'Cipher.' Played by Charlize Theron, she's a mysterious woman who lures Diesel's Dominic Toretto back into a life of crime and forcing him to double-cross the people he considers family.
The film, which is the first installment of an all-new trilogy, brings Scott Eastwood and Helen Mirren into the fold while Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Lucas Black, and Nathalie Emmanuel return as Dom's crew of street-racing outlaws.
Dwayne Johnson is also back as bad-ass DSS agent Luke Hobbs -- though this time, his respect and admiration for Toretto might be waning.
Also featuring appearances by Kurt Russell, Jason Statham, and Elsa Pataky, "The Fate of the Furious" is directed by franchise newbie, F. Gary Gray, of "Straight Outta Compton" and "The Italian Job" fame.
The film arrives in theaters April 14, 2017.
