Now that he's done with saving the world as Doctor Strange, Benedict Cumberbatch is returning to the character that helped him become a global star: Sherlock Holmes. And in a brand-new trailer for the much-awaited fourth season of the hit British series "Sherlock," things are looking a bit dire, if not downright desperate for the world's most famous detective.
Watch Cumberbatch's Sherlock as he is forced to reveal his "darkest secret" by a menacing new villain, played by Toby Jones. The game may be afoot. But this is "not a game anymore."
Martin Freeman also returns as Sherlock's faithful sidekick, Dr. John Watson, along with Una Stubbs, Louise Brealey, and Mark Gatiss, who also writes and created the series with Steven Moffat.
"Sherlock: Season 4" will premiere worldwide (both in the UK and the US) on Sunday, January 1, 2017.
