Dan Stevens has a beautiful mind, yet a nasty psychosis in the new trailer for "Legion," the upcoming FX series that's based on the mutant comic-book character of the same name.
Loosely set within the X-Men universe, the series sees Stevens as a schizophrenic man, named David Haller. While living at a psychiatric hospital under close supervision, David starts to show signs of having extraordinary powers ... telepathic powers, that is.
But the question is -- is David a mighty telepath with remarkable abilities, who just might be the key to stopping the clandestine war between humans and mutants? Or is David merely a mentally ill patient with a really active imagination?
The series, which also stars Rachel Keller, Jean Smart, Aubrey Plaza, Hamish Linklater, Katie Aselton, Bill Irwin, Mackenzie Gray, and Jeremie Harris, is spearheaded by Noah Hawley, the Emmy-winning creator of the "Fargo" series. Hawley also wrote and directed the pilot episode, which is slated to premiere Wednesday, February 8 on the FX Network.
Legion follows David Haller, a troubled young man who may be more than human. Diagnosed as schizophrenic, David has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals for years. But after a strange encounter with a fellow patient, he’s confronted with the possibility that the voices he hears and visions might be real.
