Some of your favorite WWE Superstars are now animated penguins. Here's a new trailer for "Surf's Up 2: WaveMania," a follow-up to the 2007 surfing penguin comedy, which is now a co-production between Sony Pictures Animation and WWE Studios. Which means, the voice cast is now primarily comprised of WWE Superstars: John Cena, The Undertaker, and Triple H, as well as WWE CEO Vince McMahon and WWE Diva Paige.
Directed by "Hotel Transylvania 2" storyboard artist-turned-first-time helmer Henry Yu, the film sees the return of thrill-seeking surfing penguin, Cody Maverick, who embarks on a mission to find a secret surf spot. While on the way there, Cody and his two best friends, Chicken Joe and Lani, learn a valuable lesson about teamwork when they encounter the legendary big wave-riding team, known as "The Hang 5."
"Surf's Up 2" will be released on DVD and Digital on January 17, 2017.
synopsis:
Cody Maverick, hungry for a new challenge, convinces an infamous big wave riding crew known as The Hang 5 -- voiced by WWE Superstars John Cena, The Undertaker, Triple H, WWE Diva Paige and Mr. McMahon -- to let him join them on their journey to a mysterious surf spot known as The Trenches, where legend has it, they'll find the biggest waves in the world. Cody soon discovers that the life he left behind might be more heroic than what any death-defying wave has to offer.
